Frequently asked questions

Rodent control

I hear noises at night — is it a rat or a mouse?

Both are nocturnal. Rats make dull thuds and scratching sounds in walls or under floors. Mice make lighter sounds. Either way, an inspection is needed: an infestation can quintuple in a few weeks.

Are the baits dangerous for my pets?

No. We use locked bait stations that are inaccessible to dogs and cats. We also tell you which areas to avoid temporarily after the intervention.

How long before the rodents are gone?

Generally 7 to 14 days after the intervention. A follow-up can be arranged if needed to confirm the result.

Can I treat the problem myself before calling a professional?

Off-the-shelf traps are rarely effective against an established infestation and can scatter the rodents. A complete protocol (baiting + sealing) is essential to prevent recurrence.

Why are rodents dangerous to health?

Rats and mice transmit more than 35 documented diseases: leptospirosis (50 to 200 cases per year in Belgium), salmonellosis, hantavirus. They gnaw through electrical cables, pipes and load-bearing structures. 1 female rat produces up to 5 litters per year (6 to 12 pups each) — an untreated infestation can grow tenfold in 2 to 3 months.

How do rodents get into a building?

An adult rat can squeeze through a 2.5 cm opening; a mouse through just 6 mm. Door seals, cable conduits, foundation cracks, ventilation ducts: our technicians map and seal every access point during the intervention.
